Mask

I was once sad and lonely,
Having nobody to comfort me,
So I wore a mask that always smiled;
To hide my feelings behind a lie.

Before long, I had many friends;
With my mask, I was one of them.
But deep inside, I still felt empty,
Like I was missing a part of me.

Nobody could hear my cries at night
For I designed my mask to hide the lies.
Nobody could see the pain I was feeling
For I designed my mask to be laughing.

Behind all the smiles were the tears
And behind all the comfort were the fears.
Everything you think you see,
Wasn't everything there was to me.

Day by day,
I was slowly dying.
I couldn't go on,
There was something missing..

Until now I'm still searching
For the thing that'll stop my crying.
For someone who'll erase my fears,
For the person who'll wipe my tears

Alone

House full of people but still alone
You feel the love from your family
but still alone...Here I sit wondering
where I went wrong, The pain of being alone
is the hardest..Wanting it to end asking yourself
if it ever will...Thinking only I can change the things
I hate in my life, but how can you change something
that is always the same..you wake-up day in and day out
doing and moving the same no day different then the
next. Waking up and falling asleep alone.

Different Uniforms

When times of sorrow
Come each day,
I always feel sad
And sigh away.

Always a war, needs fighting
Always a life, suffering,
Oh, how I wish,
I wish for peace.

Though, I know, ‘tis a test
Laid for us by God,
That the day comes
Of no more burden,
No more load.

A time of love,
A time of ease,
Oh, how I wish,
I wish for peace.

But, what would I give
For people to always get along,
Instead of shouting curses
To, maybe, sing a song?

I hope, I will live
To see my dream come true,
As, I hope, your dreams do to.
Right now, I will wish,
I wish for peace.

The Western Front

At the Western Front where we defend
Among the dead bodies of foe and of friend
The guns and their bullets fire evermore
That is the sound of the Great World War

At the Western Front where we try to survive
Everyday more are dead and less are alive
You wake up in the morning, trembling with fear
Will I breathe my last breath on the Western Frontier?

At the Western Front with the death and destruction
We fight for our country, we fight for freedom
We are victorious, release the dove
I’m going home to the family I love.

No Time To Worry

It’s not time to worry yet;
not even as screams loom above ash.
It’s not time to worry,
not even as bullets splinter glass.

It’s not time to worry yet;
though we barely make it by.
It isn’t time to worry
because it isn’t time to die.

You don’t have to worry
because you don’t have to fight.
Today it is our battle,
we haven’t gotten to the night.

It seems its always day here
because the fighting never stops.
We never go to sleep here,
we’re afraid to call the shots.

It isn’t time to worry yet;
that’s what dad said as he left.
It isn’t time to worry
but he hasn’t come back.

My Mother's Wish

My darling Katie, words cannot say
How proud I am of you today
You’re beautiful, courageous, good and strong
Taking up the cause to right the wrongs
The world has caused for far too long

I’ll watch you go so far away
So scared am I, but I will pray
I’ll send my angel to watch over you
To keep you safe and guide you through
This very special work you do

When I think of you I’m filled with pride
I’ll wipe the tears that I have cried
I know you’re doing what is right
And I’m behind you in your fight
Think of me, I’ll be your light

Don’t be afraid, I’m here for you
Trust in yourself, you know what to do
This mission’s important, soon you’ll see
You’re there to help someone be free
And when you’re done, come home to me
Come home to me

Dead Weight

I've tried so very hard
But now I must say
I don't accomplish too much
At the end of the day

I'm supposed to be good
But I guess that's not true
I don't do things that I should
I just leave them for you

It's easy money for me
But when troubles amass
It's up the management tree
To kiss me some ass

My job is secure
But I’m surrounded by hate
I’m sure to endure
Because I'm dead weight

A Piece And Six Please

up down and thru.
the little boat ploughs thru the blue,
and you know not the work they do,
the fishermen of England.

the water splashed the water roared
as the nets are hauled aboard,
the crew then stood with open eyes
as the boat drifts with the tide.

then homeward bound with fish pounds full,
as they scrub the deck from stem to stern,
and who knows what poor wage they'll earn,
the fishermen of England

Clarity

The Clarity you gave to me,
It shone like Angel rays,
Like water rushed on golden sands,
And crashed along the bays.

The questions deep within my heart,
Confused my humble mind,
Yet when you spoke your words aloud
It seemed, no longer I was blind.

The answers all came flooding in,
They touched my inner soul,
The knowledge that you gave to me
Within my heart I hold.

I understood that the events
That troubled me somehow,
Was nothing to be frightened of,
Instead I should be Proud.

I Thank You Sir most graciously,
These words I say aloud,
For the Clarity you've given me,
Has made me feel quite proud.

How It Used To Be

I saw her during recess
And then again at lunch
I kinda liked to tease her
I'd always dodge her punch
I said I didn't like her
But it really wasn't true
I liked to be around her
Without her I was blue
Then at lunch we'd sit together
With our lunches made
From our caring mothers
Damn I miss first grade

Drop The Mirror

A silhouette upon the moonlight night
Spawned internally by her mind
A glance in a mirror, a shock of fright
Thoughts she daren’t leave behind
Beside herself with grief and pity
Eviscerated of her veracity

Beneath salty watermarks of ecstasy
Lurks her boiling blood-lust
Wrapped in her mirror, dramatically
Containing all within her bust,
Pale faces greet her own reflection
Slowly rotting, breeding tradition

My own inward conscious mind
Seeks her happiness without restriction
Meticulously I seek to find
Emancipation from her own condition
For I myself, amidst solitude
Reflect in that very mirror, a harrowing view

Upon the waking eye, ever in pursuit
I reach to smash and break
This mirror concealing her fortitude
To release her-to awake
So drop the mirror, turn and face
Stay a while within my warm embrace

Brotherhood

I walk slowly down the streets paved with sadness,
Addicts begging for favors and pleading for change,
Desperation plagues their dark hollow eyes
And their hearts, they are empty and I
I silently cry.

I see in parks the children that are playing,
Smiles and joy lights up their faces with glee,
Laughter fills the air with song and delight,
Their hearts are full with love and trust in their eyes,
I silently cry.

I cry for the lost, the rich and the poor,
Whose hearts have grown bitter and cold,
For what could have been in their life is now gone,
And left is the empty high of a drug that's unknown,
I silently cry.

I pray for the ones who have given up hope,
Hope for a future of love, faith and joy,
I pray for the lonely the sick and the lost,
That someone would take the time to reach out,
I silently hope,

Looking Up

I know you see me
I know your there,
But in my heart it’s not fair.
If I look up I see the sky,
And I know up there
It’s hard to hide.
The sky is soft blue,
With white milky clouds,
How can you be in a place
Not found?
In the end,
I fall to my knees
Close my eyes and think of thee.
If you are who you say to be,
Then please oh please take care of me.
Cause I believe!

My Life

The things I've seen will scar me for life,
growing up I seen wrong and very little of right,
I hear a sad song and tears roll down my face,
I look in the mirror and feel so out of place,
I don't want to become something larger than life,
I want to become something real and so right,
do they understand am I understood,
can life be better I wish that it could,
before I make a decision I always think twice,
they say what can I do to help you feel better
I say nothing because this is my life

Hopeful Future

It is okay,
To feel sorrow.

To morn,
When good times,
Are in the past,

And trials,
Have come to present.

Look
To the future,
With hope,

For without hope...
There is no true life.

Who Will Cry?

who will cry for the little girl
a little girl is she
who will cry for the little girl
the one with the broken home
who will cry for the little girl
a good girl she is
who will cry for the little girl
the one who hurts so bad
who will cry for the little girl
so scared to grow up
who will cry for the little girl
lost and confused
who will cry for the little girl
who does not understand
who will cry for her
I will cry for that little girl
who is scared and misunderstood
will you cry for the little girl to?

We Sailed On With Happy Hearts

The Harbor wind's song played on in our hearts
As we bobbed in our baby dinghy in the blue bay,
All summer long we sailed on with happy hearts.

Sporadic clouds peeled shadows off dockhand carts:
We thrilled in trills of gulls and terns above the bay.
The harbor wind's song played on in our hearts.

We were skippers of our dinghy, sporting our parts.
Tack port! No, starboard! Buoy, port side bow! Oy vey!
All sea sun long we sailed on with happy hearts.

Cool breezes blew our dinghy to coves across the charts;
We sifted winded sails, sipped wine all winsome day.
The harbor wind's song played on in our hearts.

The sun tumbled: we tacked for clubs past marts
And feasted on mariners' tales of a bygone day.
All misted moon long we sailed on with happy hearts.

We reveled in rhythmic peals of mast slapping halyards
And lapping ripples mooring mirrored lights in the bay.
The harbor wind's song played on in our hearts;
All misted moon long we sailed on with happy hearts.

There's No Obscurity

As I gaze into his liquid gold eyes,
Poetry radiates from his warm soul
His lips brush mine and I soar through the skies
Passion seizes me; I loose my control
An amalgam of thoughts pierce through my mind
There is love, trust, yet I feel petrified
I know destiny; our fate’s intertwined
But what if he’s a dream, one I’m denied?
A thousand years I could spend with those suns
Amid his presence I’ve conquered all realms
I’ve witnessed beauty that forever stuns
And have basked beneath his forest of elms
Then and there, I grasp truth with clarity
He’s in my arms; there’s no obscurity

A day without you is a day without Happiness!
A day without you is a day without Existence!
A day without you is a day without the Sun!
A day without you is a day without Warmth!
A day without you is a day without a kind Word!
A day without you is a day without Laughter!
A day without you is a day without Kindness!

Loving You

today a drummer boy told me you are falling in love with me
or was it your heart beating when I kissed the bosom of thee
it was the time when the Nox was at her young
and I was kissing you and its silence who sung

in the midst of the dark
I held you tight in Hyde's park
you were truly looking something
like an angel spreading her wing

I felt it is not the beauty for which I should love you
it is not the quality at all for what I must trust you
but is thou's way of giving love
and the way you want to be loved

whilst I kissed you from top to toes
your soft body felt like a winter rose
Oh so soft, as one can be
softness that was never earlier felt by me

I drank wine every time I kissed your lips
you tried to speak but they only lisp
I wished from heart to keep loving you
till the sun shower snow & eternity will be new

When The Storms Come Around

Should you find yourself at the captain's helm,
as everyone around you is jumping ship.
Do not lose your stride.
Do not miss a step.
Because I will be right beside you,
braving the storm.

As the cruel dark clouds loom just above the bow,
and the torrential rains begin to fall.
Your nerves may get the best of you,
but that is perfectly natural.

All you must do is reach out and take my hand.
I will calm those panicked thoughts
causing your mind to spin.

I will stand at your side through hurricane force winds,
and together we'll be able to keep our footing.
Life may attempt to send us to the ocean depths,
but together we will survive this hellish night
to see the sun again.

I haven’t written a poem,
Since the last time I was hurt,
I haven’t written a poem,
Since my heart was ready to burst,
But now you got me writing,
Not because I’m sad,
Now you got me writing,
About things I never had,
I never had someone call me,
And tell me they care for me,
I never had any one,
Just stop and stare at me,
And tell me that I’m pretty,
Even when I looked bad,
And tell me that I’m sexy,
And tell me to never be sad,
I’ve written you these poems,
So you would know how I feel,
I want you to know I want you,
And I want you to know I’m real.

What I Love About You

The sparkle in your eye,
The warmth of your skin.
Your breath on my neck,
That shakes me within.

The touch of your hand,
The smell of your hair.
The naughtiness in your smile,
That strength in your stare.

Your kiss on my lips,
Your body near mine.
The stroke of your touch,
That feeling inside.

The Compassion in your embrace.
The power in your face.
The beating of your heart.
That we may never part

The beauty of your kiss,
and that magic in your touch.
It is for all these reasons and more,
Why I love you so much
