Summer In The City

Yes, it’s summer in the city,
All the girls are pretty,
And I think it’s such a pity you’re not here.

The ice creams awfully melting,
Crowds bellowing and shouting,
The sky is effervescent and clear.

Summer in the moonlight,
Keeps me warm until the twilight,
But your arms are missing round’ my waist.

The choir in my footsteps,
Left me bound and broken,
Tell me why your presence brings me grace.

Summer in the raindrops,
Those cleansing little raindrops,
Makes me think of why I even fret.

For you I will be dancing,
The girls I’ll be romancing,
Thinking your name all the while they get me wet.

Yes, it’s summer in the city,
All the girls are pretty,
But now I’m getting shitty I’m alone.
